Info

L’Odyssée de Flo is based on Syrah, Grenache Noir, and Carignan from Mont Baudile. The Syrah grows on limestone scree, while the Grenache also grows on eroded pebbles and quartz. The Carignan comes from blue and yellow marl with sandstone and river pebbles. After the harvest, the wine is macerated for approximately 14 days with regular remontage and pigeage. Only natural yeasts are used. No fining or filtration follows fermentation. The total sulphur content is measured at less than 30 mg/l.

Colour

Dense purple, delicate violet hints

Nose

Dark and spicy. At the same time inviting and far from rich or heavy. The Point de Jour made a successful first impression on me. It can’t quite decide between sweet and sour cherries. Pickled morello cherries do this best. Cassis, elderberry, but also blackberry and raspberry complement it wonderfully. A restrained but enormously important spice combines balsamic and ethereal elements. Pine bark, pine groves, and white pepper interact wonderfully here. Mint, sage, and rosemary come in as if in vain.

Palate

On the palate, it conveys a dense but concentrated impression. This free stream of aromas hits the palate precisely. Rich and full of power. It is never heavy, but thrives on nonchalant drinking pleasure. Its Mediterranean flair conveys seductive and animating drinking pleasure. Every sip has sophistication and style. The Carignan lends it a mystical, dark note that completely captivates me. A very high standard for a contemporary Mediterranean red wine.
