Description
The Domaine du Coulet is located in Cornas on the Northern Rhône. Matthieu Barret took over the management of the winery there in 1998, converted it to organic cultivation and later also had it certified according to Biodyvin regulations. In addition to his own wines from his 20 hectares in Cornas, he offers entry-level wines from purchased organically produced grapes through the Matthieu Barret négociant business. His own plots are spread over different terroirs on the rather cool and windy slopes of Cornas. Mathieu Barret works with as little intervention as possible. Only small amounts of sulphur are used. His Cornas wines are – according to the appellation regulations – 100 % Syrah. The 3.7 hectares planted with Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne produce a white Côtes du Rhône. His red wines are fcoussed mainly on fruit rather than aiming for strength and tannin.
Free yourself from the convenient tyranny of other people’s tasting notes! We encourage you to find out about the wines from the producers themselves by visiting their website.
