Description
It is rare that there is something spectacularly new to report from the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé regions. But with the first vintage of wines from the Domaine du Bouchot under the direction of Antoine Gouffier, this is certainly the case. The domaine hadbeen run by members of Antoine’s family until 2017, but he and his wife Ilse Nel, who hails from South Africa, decided to step in and take it over in 2019. Domaine du Bouchot was the first domaine in conservative Pouilly-Fumé to convert to certified organic farming, in 2009. 2020 will be the first Demeter-certified vintage for the domaine, whose ten hectares cover terroir with Portlandian limestone (Caillottes) and Kimmeridge (Terres Blanches).
