Description
The Domaine Weinbach was founded by Capuchin monks in 1612. It owes its current fame to the Faller family. Théodore and Jean-Baptiste Faller brought the vineyard into the family’s possession in 1898. But it was above all Théo, Théodore’s son, who lifted the winery into the top league of French winemaking. He also steadily expanded the estate until his death in 1979. Since 2016, Catherine Faller has been managing the estate, which has been worked biodynamically since 1998, together with her sons Eddy and Théo, and she has recently expanded it once again with several Pinot Noir sites. It is not only the monopoly vineyard, the Clos des Capucins, that is famous, but of course also the wines from the Grand Cru Schlossberg opposite the estate as well as those from Furstentum, Mambourg, Marckrain, and the single vineyard Altenbourg.
