Description
At the end of the 1960s, the Swiss architect Wendel Gelpke was able to acquire an old, neglected estate in northern Tuscany, the Fattoria Corzano, from the descendants of a noble Florentine family. A few years later, the neighbouring Paterno estate was added, which was also restored with a lot of work. Today, the estate comprises 140 hectares of land, 18 of which are planted with vines. Aljoscha Goldschmidt, Wendelin’s nephew, runs the estate together with his niece Arianna with dedication and a wonderful calmness that is reflected in his wines. Corzano produces very elegant and soft wines, from the “normal” Chianti to the Riserva “Tre Borri” to an extremely long-lived cuvée of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet – the “Il Corzano”. But special attention is also paid to the white wine “Corzanello Bianco”.
