Description
Product description for Chiara Boschis, E.Pira & Figli Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC 2022 (bio)
Wine Information
The Barbera grapes come from the winery’s own vineyards with calcareous clay soils that tend towards very light gray and pink. In addition, there are alternating layers of siliceous sandstone, calcium carbonate, and iron. The wine was fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and aged for 16 months in second-use barriques.
Colour
Garnet red to purple, slightly transparent
Nose
The 2022 Barbera d’Alba is a fragrant, floral, and fruity wine with notes of ripe black cherries and plums, blended with wet stone, a touch of earth, and lavender.
Palate
On the palate, the wine appears both polished and round. It has ripe, full fruit with a medium body, a velvety texture, a slight alcohol warmth typical of the grape variety, but also a fresh, juicy and fruity vein with plenty of dark cherry and cherry stones, ripe tannins and a fullness that is sexy to the point.
