Description
Podere Brizio is located southwest of Montalcino on a hilltop. The winery, new but founded on an historical site, covers 33 hectares with 11 hectares of Sangiovese, surrounded by olive groves, woods and fields. On clear days, you can see the sea from the windows of the farmhouse, which includes not only the winery, but also a restaurant and a boutique hotel. The winery was founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni, an Argentine with Italian ancestry who also owns the Chianti Classico winery Dievole, among others. The estate was certified organic with the 2017 vintage. The vineyards of Podere Brizio are located on marl and limestone, as well as sandy and clay soils of maritime origin. Currently, a Rosso, a Brunello and a Brunello Riserva are produced. The wines are classically vinified in 54-HL barrels. However, the typical Slavonian oak is not used, but rather French Allier oak.
Free yourself from the convenient tyranny of other people’s tasting notes! We encourage you to find out about the wines from the producers themselves by visiting their website.
