Nose<\/h5>\n

The nose of the 2016 Clos de Bourg Moelleux 1\u00e8r Trie from Domaine Huet is precisely differentiated. While the Moelleux wines of this vintage are predominantly botrytis-free, the influence of noble rot is charmingly present here. Honeycomb and beeswax form the spicy peak, followed by dried fruit such as dried pears and apple rings. Candied orange and lemon peel mingle with roasted, salted nuts, Montelimar nougat, and mild spicy notes of anise, saffron, and a leaf of light tobacco round out the epic nose. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the palate, with gripping phenolics, it combines sweet fruit and viscosity with ripe, polished tannins that lend it its grandeur and flow. A very upright wine, tightly groomed, yet with a down-to-earth approachability. Aromas of bergamot are reflected on the palate, the acidity is broad with a piquant vibrancy, and is accompanied by mild spice notes like allspice and cloves into the epochal finish. Very, very sexy.<\/p>\n
