Information about the Wine<\/h5>\n

This wine comes from old vines in the Climat Sous Fr\u00e9tille (10.25 hectares in total) in Pernand-Vergelesses, in the immediate vicinity of Corton. The vineyard is located almost at the top of the hill and is largely exposed to the southeast. The sun only appears there at midday, and the vineyard is cooler than the Corton vineyard, which has been increasingly beneficial in recent years. The vineyard area here is 0.11 hectares. After destemming and spontaneous fermentation, the wine is slowly aged on its fine lees for 16 months in 400-liter cigar-shaped barrels (mainly from the Atelier Centre France factory) with a new oak content of 75 to 100%. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

The Sous Fr\u00e9tilles is a fine, fragrant Chardonnay with aromas of lemon oil, lightly roasted nuts, pear cream, and a hint of orange. Added to this are a slightly smoky note, some nutmeg, and vanilla with subtle wood. All of this creates a very elegant aroma. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

The Pernand-Vergelesses should be decanted now. This makes it show off its strengths even better. The wine is wonderfully creamy and sensual with a light butteriness and a fine oak and cinnamon spice from the barrel. The more air it gets, the more it draws. The acidity becomes agile, the wine increasingly intense with excellent length.<\/p>\n
