The Montserre parcel owes its name to the “Serres,” a geological formation in the form of dense, superimposed limestone slabs. The soil surface is strewn with white pebbles. Located at a high altitude, at the top of the appellation, it is exposed to the winds on four sides. It is surrounded by a hedge of trees where birds nest, forming a fertile ecosystem. <\/p>\n

Bright, intense, sparkling golden yellow. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

The 2022 Chablis “Montserre” is open and has captivating aromas of apple sauce, oranges, orange jam, ginger, and notes of licorice. The brilliant fruit is accompanied by smoky notes and the cool scent of ocean waves crashing against the rocks. The fine use of wood is present and well integrated into the juicy expression of the wine. Decant at this time if possible and serve not too cold. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the tongue, it explodes with fresh fruit; here, increasing citrus notes, fresh orange, and an invigorating acidity that wafts across the tongue with a pronounced salty trail. A wonderfully lively Chablis that beautifully combines power and finesse. Its long finish points to its magnificent aging potential.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Chablis Montserre, located at the higher contours of the appellation at 280m altitude, on layered clay soils with white rocks, vinified with zero sulfur. It offers baked bread and candle wax, just a touch of walnut. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, tangy marmalade and orange rind, a slightly resinous texture but nicely controlled and vibrant on the finish with pleasing persistence on the aftertaste.
