Wine Information<\/h5>\n

This wine comes from two hectares of 40- to 55-year-old Chardonnay vines at an altitude of 230 meters in the Pouilly-Vinzelles appellation, planted on clay and limestone soils from the Bajocian region (Jura). Harvested by hand from August 23 to 29, 2022 (the label says September, but this is a copy-and-paste error). Whole-bunch pressing and spontaneous fermentation followed, followed by aging of 80% in tanks and 20% in 228-liter flasks with 100% malolactic fermentation. Total sulphur is 28 mg\/l, and the pH is 3.24. <\/p>\n

Colour<\/h5>\n

Medium straw yellow, slightly lighter, more bronze-coloured, and cloudier than its slightly more sulfurized counterpart. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

With the Zen version, the Bret brothers offer a second version of Pouilly-Vinzelles, which differs only by a few milligrams less sulfites. Nevertheless, you have the feeling of holding a different wine in your glass. It appears more aromatically bright with more lemon and zest, more green apple, and a little more lime, but somewhat less full-bodied. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

The Chardonnay is just as present on the palate as it is on the nose. Notes of crisp stone fruit and citrus fruits flow fresh and brightly over the tongue. The wine appears compact with lively acidity and pleasant punch, as well as a very fine tannin.<\/p>\n
