Tatjana Peceric has been the full-time Head Winemaker at Terroir al Limit for several years. Together with Dominik Huber, she has established their new project, Terroir sense Fronteres, in Montsant. Pas de Deux is now her own wine project from Montsant. 2018 is the first vintage and is made from the region’s main grape varieties, Garnacha and Cari\u00f1ena. Translated, Pas de Deux means a dance for two and represents the final act in many ballet performances. The two grape varieties are to be understood as the main protagonists. <\/p>\n

Colour<\/h5>\n

Rich cherry red, bright reflections. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

What an overwhelming encounter. The wine smells of dark chocolate. Unexpected, but all the better for it, as the chocolate doesn’t seem sweet, heavy, or concentrated. Earthy notes and beetroot join in. Fresh almonds and a delicate herbal nuance. Morello cherry and sour cherry can also be detected. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

The initial scent of chocolate disappears into the impression on the palate. The earthy notes are wonderfully carried by light bitterness. The tannin is restrained, but just the right amount. Above all, it is elegant and light-footed. Juicy and easy to drink, this is a contemporary interpretation of a red wine that leaves room for the flavours of today’s cuisine. Garnacha and Cari\u00f1ena offer a mix of light and dark, sweet and sour at the same time. Prancing and playful. Just like a ballet.<\/p>\n

The 2018 Pas de Deux is the first wine here, a 50\/50 blend of organically farmed Garnacha and Cari\u00f1ena from Montsant. The whole berries fermented with a little bit of Garnacha Blanca, mostly in stainless steel and a small part in a clay amphora. It has a very pure nose, with clean aromas mixing Mediterranean herbs, spices and wild berries and flowers. The tender palate is medium-bodied, juicy and vibrant with acidity and fine-grained, chalky tannins. 1,200 bottles were filled in June 2019.
