The grapes were spontaneously fermented with wild yeasts in wood and regularly battoned. The wine was bottled without filtration on July 10, 2014, and disgorged on November 29, 2022, with three grams of shipping liqueur added. <\/p>\n<h5>Colour<\/h5>\n<p> Intense golden yellow to old gold with fine mousse. <\/p>\n<h5>Nose<\/h5>\n<p> On the nose, the 2013 Cuv\u00e9e des Caudalies Le Mesnil Grand Cru from Champagne de Sousa is a kaleidoscope of generous richness. Incredibly complex and densely interwoven in its aromatics, it appears baroque in style with a correspondingly courtly disposition. Dripping honeycomb, quince jelly, and dried, plump yellow pears revel in pomp; a touch of candied ginger and fresh oysters attest to worldly sophistication. There&#8217;s no false modesty here; grandeur and an attractive kind of splendour are the order of the day. To my liking. <\/p>\n<h5>Palate<\/h5>\n<p> Creamy on the palate, the mousse is more like glittering stardust illuminating the golden aria. Generous and expansive, it is carried by the rich extract and the mellow maturity that gives it its irresistible charm. The aromas of the nose are reflected on the palate; full-bodied yet perfectly defined, it flows almost effortlessly towards its final destination.
