The fruit comes from the Lieut-dit La Fosse vineyard, which faces south-southeast and has clayey topsoil and chalky bedrock. Planted in 1985, it was aged in 400-liter tonneaux, and fermentation was spontaneous. No malolactic fermentation was performed. Tirage took place on March 27, 2018, and disgorgement in January 2023. <\/p>\n<h5>Colour<\/h5>\n<p>: Brilliant golden yellow with fine perlage. <\/p>\n<h5>Nose<\/h5>\n<p> The 2017 &#8220;Ageius&#8221; combines subtle notes from slightly oxidative aging, reminiscent of crumbly apples and salty Manzanilla sherry, with a hint of smoke, stone, and fruit. The Pinot Noir presents itself as red and black berries, combined with notes of kumquats and grapefruit. This is accompanied by some yeast bread and herbs on crushed stone. The wine&#8217;s aroma is quite taut. <\/p>\n<h5>Palate<\/h5>\n<p> On the palate, the Grand Cru offers a complex, juicy, and concentrated entry with a slightly creamy texture, but also with a light extract. Here, one has the feeling of crisp young fruit blending with crumbly stone fruit. The champagne is intense, salty, almost iodine-like, with a hint of salted caramel. The perlage is fine and quickly fades into the background.
