Wine Information<\/h5>\n

Les Grands Nots is a champagne made from T\u00eates de Cuv\u00e9e, one-third each of Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, from the complex chalky, calcareous, and clay soils of the C\u00f4te de S\u00e9zanne. The vines are over 50 years old. The spontaneously fermented juices were aged for ten months in Burgundy pi\u00e8ces made from multiple fillings. They are normally around ten years old. The vintage is 2010. D\u00e9gorgement took place in July 2022 with zero grams of dosage. 1,432 bottles were produced. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

Les Grands Nots is a complex champagne from the outset, where the aging of the base wine in wood is particularly evident in the aroma at the beginning. The aroma is initially dominated by rather exotic notes. There is a ripe nose of pineapple and mango, plenty of citrus fruits, some ripe pear, candied ginger, and stone fruit. The fruit is accompanied by subtle wood and vanilla, puff pastry, and a subtle oxidation, as well as some wax and honey. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the palate, the champagne appears ripe and mature, with plenty of mellow fruit, plenty of ripe citrus fruits, and some candied lemon peel. There are also notes of vanilla, puff pastry, and brioche. The wine coats the palate wonderfully, providing a pleasant fullness and presence. Almost unexpectedly, the fresh, insistent, and lively acidity bursts in, swirling and blending with the ripe fruit components. Only now does the full power and vitality of this 13-year-old champagne become apparent. However, one realization lingers on the palate for a long time: Les Grands Nots fades slowly, leaving behind traces of salted caramel, iodine, apple, and citrus peel.<\/p>\n
