The former division into individual vineyards fell victim to wine legislation in the 1970s. To emphasize the specific differences within the Marienburg vineyard, Clemens Busch vinifies the plots separately and bottles the wines under the former parcel names, such as Fahrlay or Flakenlay. This allows the different slate soils (blue, gray, and red slate) and the specific microclimates to clearly express themselves in the wine.
