Product description for Ampeleia Bianco di Ampeleia IGT 2022 (bio)<\/p>\n

The Bianco di Ampeleia comes from a vineyard that was newly planted using the traditional blend method. A mass selection from an old vineyard was used, consisting primarily of Trebbiano, Malvasia bianca, and Ansonica. With each year, the Bianco becomes rounder and more elegant thanks to the combined planting. The grapes grow at altitudes of 3-500 meters and are harvested by hand. In the winery, the grapes ferment together on the skins for two days, which is responsible for the intense colour. Fermented spontaneously, the wine then matures for six months in large concrete tanks. The first vintage produced was 2016, and around 35,000 bottles have been produced annually since then. <\/p>\n

Old gold to light amber with a satiny opacity. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

Citrus, wet chalk, orange blossoms, light black tea, and sliced, crumbly apple sum up the first impressions of the 2022 Bianco di Ampeleia from Ampeleia. Added to this are peach pits, some light tobacco, and stone fruit peel. The intense nose develops continuously with increasing exposure to air. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

With tart, astringent tannins on the first sip, the course for this mash-influenced white wine is immediately set. No overt fruit, but rather aroma and structure take over the leitmotif here. With a fresh acidity, the overarching tonality is clearly major, with a forward vector! A drink for advanced drinkers and mash lovers who don’t want to miss out on flow.<\/p>\n

Dried flowers, almond, orange peel and spice are nicely lifted. Overall, the 2022 is quite delicate in feel, especially with aeration.
