Info<\/h5>\n

This single-varietal Cabernet Franc comes from the best plots of the Riparbella vineyards. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 220\u2013250 meters, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vines are 17 years old. The soils are calcareous and rich in clay and pebbles. The manual harvest took place at the end of September, with a first selection in the vineyard. The grapes were gently destemmed to avoid damaging the skins. A second selection followed on the sorting table. Fermentation took place spontaneously in conical oak barrels with temperature-controlled maceration. 30 days of maceration followed with short, regular pump-overs. The wine was then aged for 22 months in small French oak barrels (225\u2013228 l). 80% of the barrels are new. 20% are in their second use. No filtration before bottling. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

Duemani’s Cabernet Franc is simply a bank. So profound and honest. Spicy and fruity at the same time. Playful, yet mature. Cinnamon plums, damsons, and mulberries are the dominant representatives of the fruit. Fig and blackberry complement them phenomenally. Dark blossoms such as hibiscus, violet, and mallow provide strong counterparts to the fruit. Its vegetal side is embodied by beetroot, artichoke, tomato, and cooked red bell pepper. Sage and marjoram, along with a hint of thyme, add herbal spice and slightly cooling, ethereal accents. It is very delicately reminiscent of cedarwood and warm leather. Mocha and melted dark chocolate round it out. A hint of eucalyptus also fits in well at the end. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the palate, it presents itself incredibly compact and densely woven. Extremely tightly woven and still slightly veiled. The fruit pushes forward powerfully. The acidity also sets in promptly. The tannin spreads across the palate and is in perfect ripeness. Elegant and meltingly tender. The vegetal notes provide more depth. Tomato and beetroot, in particular, make a really good impression here. The herbal spice has subdued slightly. The impression of dark chocolate and coffee is also clearly evident in the finish.<\/p>\n

The Duemani 2019 Cabernet Franc Duemani ferments in oak and ages in barrique. This renders a very creamy and richly textured wine with substantial fruit weight, sweet spice and tobacco. There is a toasted note of espresso bean and scorched earth, but the wine is consistent with the variety and the rich nature of this vintage. It also shows elegant restraint despite its natural power. This is a full-bodied red (both organic and biodynamic) with very broad shoulders. It needs more bottle aging and eventually a double decanting before being poured.
