Product description for Bakkanali Bakkanali Kani IGT 2023 (bio)<\/p>\n

The grapes come from biodynamic cultivation on 0.9 hectares of clayey-silty marl soil with no skeletal content, located at an altitude of 600 meters on Monte Amiata. The 19-year-old Sangiovese vines are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously as whole bunches. Fermentation takes place under semi-carbonated conditions with a maceration of approximately two weeks. Following this, the grapes are gently pressed by foot, and the must remains in infusion for two more days. Aging takes place in wooden barrels; the addition of sulfur remains minimal, with less than 25 mg\/l total SO\u2082. Production is limited to around 4,000 bottles. <\/p>\n

Purple red with a dark core and violet reflections. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

The 2023 “KANI” Sangiovese from Bakkanali presents a hybrid nose: a touch of Tuscany meets a touch of glou-glou meets a touch of Sangiovese. Currently, its character is characterized by youthful fruitiness, a leitmotif of the semi-carbonic fermentation. Cherries, banana bread, a hint of chocolate, a quirky bay leaf, and a sprig of thyme outline its experimental nose, along with dark chocolate and jelly fruits. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the palate, a troppo Sangiovese with challenging acidity and juicy extract. Dark fruity and generous, it knows how to play the social scene and treads anything but softly: the dark fruit and plush tannins wrap it like a red robe. The acidity provides the right kick without dominating, fueling the gentle flow. An exceptional Sangiovese for the curious.<\/p>\n
