The plot lies at an altitude of 377 meters above sea level. Its soil is characterized by white clay with a high proportion of limestone marl. Overall, this is a very stony vineyard, which Boris calls his Ch\u00e2teauneuf. Boris Champy&#8217;s vineyards were planted in the 1980s, with a vine density of over 10,000, using Lyre and Guyot systems. He only destemmed a small portion of the grapes; 70% are whole bunches. However, due to the botrytis-affected vintage, Champy completely destemmed the grapes, treated the stems with sulfur, and formed a millefeuille of layers of destemmed grapes and stems to ferment the grapes. He extracted the wine gently and aged it in a foudre for twelve months, with 30% in new wood. <\/p>\n<h5>Colour<\/h5>\n<p> Intense purple red <\/p>\n<h5>Nose<\/h5>\n<p> Boris Champy&#8217;s 2021 Bourgogne Hautes-C\u00f4tes de Beaune &#8220;Altitude 377 Le Clou&#8221; is dark with plenty of spice and a touch of incense over red cherry, plum, and wild strawberry fruit. There&#8217;s also a hint of graphite, rock, and mint on elegant and discreetly used wood. <\/p>\n<h5>Palate<\/h5>\n<p> On the palate, Le Clou 377 shows fine tannins that envelop the dark fruit. The acidity is lively and provides punch. The wine has a pleasant melt, and the third of new wood is very well integrated and provides depth.
