Product description for Thomas Morey Maranges 1er Cru rouge La Fussi\u00e8re AOC 2023 <\/p>\n

La Fussi\u00e8re covers 41.86 hectares and is located in the northeast of the district, directly on the border with Santenay. There is always plenty of fruit and pronounced tannin here, so extraction is not recommended. The largely destemmed grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of neutral barrels and tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place naturally. The proportion of new wood is around 20%. Sulphurization only takes place in the last six months in the barrel, and this is done several times with minimal doses, so that the wine never reaches a total of more than 35 mg\/l. <\/p>\n

Colour<\/h5>\n

: a strong yet quite transparent purple. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

Thomas Morey’s Maranges La Fussi\u00e8re 1er Cru offers an appealing, directly inviting nose with dark red fruit, a hint of pepper, raisined berries, and a hint of soy sauce. There’s also some wood and cinnamon. The aroma is wonderfully balanced and leaves no doubt that this is a wine with power and warmth. <\/p>\n

Palate.<\/h5>\n

On the palate, the 2023 Maranges displays plenty of energy and juice. It combines the typical attributes of a warm terroir with deep dark raspberry fruit, pepper, and a distinct yet pleasant tannin with good density and length. An uncomplicated, well-crafted food companion.<\/p>\n
