Disgorged in August 2020, after 44 months on the bottle lees, the 2014 Langenlois Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Grosse Reserve blends 60% Chardonnay with 25% Pinot Blanc and 15% Pinot Gris and opens with a coolish, almost severe nose with white and green fruit aromas (limes, green apples) intertwined with hazelnut and also some flinty notes. On the palate, this is a pure, clear, fresh and coolish, very tight and actually fine but still unround sparkling wine with quite rich extract but still-nervous (unripe), greenish grip. However, the finish is quite long, intense, vital and very iodine or, in one word: promising. 12% stated alcohol. Tasted in January 2022.

The 2014 Brut Nature Langenlois Blanc de Blancs Grosse Reserve is a blend of 55% Pinot Blanc, 40% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Gris that spent just over four years on lees. Baked green apple in shortcrust pastry shines on the nose with salty highlights of cold butter. Tiny bubbles underline the essential saltiness and deep autolytic character of this wine, with depths of sourdough rye bread and a creamy apple nature. A most elegant wine with superb freshness.
