The 2020 Gew\u00fcrztraminer Semicolon, harvested exceptionally early, was fermented for threee weeks entirely with foot-trodden whole bunches. The must was then run off and matured for half a year in used barrique. The pale pink wine has a distant scent of roses, subdued and bound up with Navel orange and lemon, all tender and restrained. The palate is a picture of freshness and citric sprightliness. Navel orange peel takes the lead on this scented yet only gently aromatic wine. Subtle phenolics lay themselves like a silken web on the palate and seemingly provide a conductive network for fine freshness. This is an absolutely bone-dry, vivid Gew\u00fcrztraminer that defies expectations. (Bone-dry)
