Product description for Fritsch Materia Prima XXII 2022 (bio)<\/p>\n

The Materia Prima cuv\u00e9e is made from two approximately 40-year-old grape varieties, half Traminer and half Gr\u00fcner Veltliner, rooted on an east-facing plateau at an altitude of 220 meters. The soil is deep loess with a high proportion of fine soil \u2013 typical of the Wagram region and predestined for aromatic, expressive grape varieties. After selective hand-harvesting, the grapes were fermented spontaneously, then the wine matured for 12 months, partly in a 700-liter concrete egg (25%) and partly in a large used wooden barrel (2000 L, 75%). Materia Prima is an organically certified wine from Austria, bottled with natural cork \u2013 original, elemental, and characterized by the interplay between grape variety, origin, and aging method. <\/p>\n

Radiant orange with a satin-matte shimmer. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

Anise, orange zest, and chervil, as well as fennel and licorice, outline the rich nose of the 2022 Materia Prima XXII from Weingut Fritsch. Added to this are yellow kiwis, some tomato leaves, and dried flower petals. A constantly changing kaleidoscope with a calm undertone and silky-matte contours. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

On the palate, its silky tannins are reminiscent of fine Darjeeling, complemented by delicate aromas of orange blossom and red apple peel. The delicate acidity operates nobly in the background and combines exquisitely with the powdery tannins. A benchmark orange wine with a cool nature, subtle residual sweetness, and a rapid flow.<\/p>\n
