Wine Information<\/h5>\n

This Pinot Noir comes from the Maustal vineyard, a four-hectare, south- and southeast-facing vineyard south of Sulzfeld am Main. The steep slope is characterized by barren, skeletal Upper Muschelkalk. The vines from this site are the oldest vines planted by the vineyard itself. As always at the Zehnthof Luckert winery, the grapes are harvested by hand, followed by maceration in open fermentation tanks, spontaneous fermentation, no chaptalization, no cool pre-fermentation, around two weeks on the skins, and aging for over a year and a half in Burgundy barrels, one-third of which are new. In 2022, the grapes were completely destemmed. <\/p>\n

Nose<\/h5>\n

The Pinot Noir Maustal opens with a blend of cherry and cassis, raspberry and wild strawberry, a touch of juniper, nutty hints, and charred wood. This is overlaid with a slightly ethereal note and a hint of lavender. <\/p>\n

Palate<\/h5>\n

The 2022 Pinot Noir Maustal opens on the palate with juicy fruit of cherries and raspberries. The wine displays an extract sweetness that gives it a hedonistic touch. In addition to the fruit, there are earthy notes, some leather, undergrowth, a chalky texture, and a slightly dry tannin. The wine moves with agile, fresh acidity into a long, spicy finish.<\/p>\n
