Wine Information

This is perhaps Barolo’s most famous vineyard. The soil composition and the vineyard’s perfect southern exposure give the grapes produced here an extraordinary intensity. There is a noticeable proportion of sand in the soil, resulting in an exceptionally harmonious wine. Nebbiolo is grown here with the Michet and Lampia varieties.

The harvest took place in early October. The entire harvest was brought in by October 12th. The wines were fermented in rotating tanks with two pump-overs per day and left on the skins for 14 days. Malolactic fermentation also took place in steel. The wine was aged for over two years in French oak barrels and barriques.

Color

Garnet red, medium-transparent.

Nose

The 2021 Barolo Cannubi is characterized by a fantastic blend of sensuality and structure. Its aromas are reminiscent of iron and blood, plums, cherries, cherry stones, and a hint of marzipan, red berries, mint, a touch of eucalyptus, and candied lavender.

Palate

On the palate, the Cannubi is balanced and elegant, with warm, ripe fruit, floral notes, immaculately silky tannins, and a clear, fresh acidity. Here, too, one encounters hints of iron, blue fruit, and some wood and earth. The wine is a gently flowing stream full of sensual elements. A great vintage!
