Die Geschichte Artadis geht auf ein kooperatives Projekt zur\u00fcck. Im Jahr 1985 schlossen sich mehrere Produzenten zusammen, die der Meinung waren, dass man auch ohne extrem langen Fassausbau in der Region Spitzen-weine erzeugen kann. Unter der Leitung von Juan Carlos L\u00f3pez de Lacalle gelang es, \u00fcber die Jahrzehnte diesen Prozess immer weiter zu verfeinern und beachtliche Erfolge zu erzielen. 2016 entschied man sich aus der DOCa Rioja auszusteigen, da sich die Philosophie zu sehr von dem der Rest der Appellation differenzierte. Auch heute produziert Artadi keine Weine der Ausbaustufen Reserva und Gran Reserva. Dennoch wird auf dezenten Holzeisatz nicht verzichtet, ohne dabei jedoch das Terroir zu \u00fcberdecken Der El Carretil ist wie der El Pis\u00f3n eine Amphitheaterlage auf ca 500 Meter H\u00f6he und dreht von Ost \u00fcber S\u00fcd bis West. Die Lage zeichnet etwas leichtere, kalksteinigere B\u00f6den mit viel Sand aus, also B\u00f6den f\u00fcr feinste Weine. Beides sind extreme Lagen mit extremen Untergr\u00fcnden: El Pis\u00f3n hat mehr Lehm, mehr profunde Kraft, El Carretil mehr Feinheit und Eleganz. Die Reben sind weit \u00fcber 70 Jahre alt. Alles biodynamisch bearbeitet und seit vielen Jahren als Einzellage abgef\u00fcllt. <\/p>\n

Der abgef\u00fcllte El Carretil 2018 war ph\u00e4nomenal. Er stammt von einer 3,64 Hektar gro\u00dfen Parzelle, die zu drei verschiedenen Zeitpunkten \u2013 1930, 1975 und 1988 \u2013 auf Kalkstein-, Sandstein- und Schluffb\u00f6den mit bis zu 18 % aktivem Kalkstein bepflanzt wurde. Die Tempranillo-Trauben reiften im Fass und wurden anschlie\u00dfend in Edelstahltanks umgef\u00fcllt, wo sie bis zur Abf\u00fcllung reiften. Er ist mineralisch und balsamisch, ausdrucksstark, offen und frisch, mit wundersch\u00f6ner Eleganz. Er ist klassisch mit einem Hauch Bordeaux. Er pr\u00e4sentiert sich fast genauso wie die Probe, die ich vor 12 Monaten verkostet habe: ausdrucksstark und offen, aromatisch und parf\u00fcmiert, mit gro\u00dfer Frische und Ausgewogenheit, lebendig und energisch, saftig mit feink\u00f6rnigen Tanninen und mit hervorragender Balance und Reinheit. Im Juni 2020 wurden 5.000 Flaschen abgef\u00fcllt.
