Die Grand Cru Lage Furstentum in Kientzheim wurde erstmalig im Jahre 1330 erw\u00e4hnt. Der Pinot Gris-St\u00f6cke wachsen auf Kalkh\u00e4ngen, die nach S\u00fcden ausgerichtet sind und weisen ein Rebalter von mindestens 25 Jahren auf. Der Jahrgang 2019 begann komplex f\u00fcr den Betrieb, schaffte aber die Kurve im Verlauf des Sommers. Das Ergebnis waren brillante, gro\u00dfz\u00fcgige Weine, die Balance zeigten und von markanten S\u00e4urestrukturen gepr\u00e4gt sind. Vinifikation und Ausbau finden komplett im Stahltank statt. 3g\/l Restzucker treffen auf 4,5g\/l S\u00e4ure. <\/p>\n

Nase<\/h5>\n

Grauburgunder kann auch anders\u2026 Die Nase ist zun\u00e4chst recht verhalten, aber voller Tiefgr\u00fcndigkeit. Kandierte Quitte und Ingwer, karamellisierte Birne und getrocknete Aprikose pr\u00e4gen die Nase. Bienenstich und arte Tatin kommen mir in den Sinn. Also karamellisierte \u00c4pfel und ger\u00f6stete Mandeln sowie Biskuitteig. Trotz all dieser intensiver Nuancen vermittelt er nicht ansatzweise ein Gef\u00fchl von S\u00fc\u00dfe. Allein das ist f\u00fcr mich eine Sensation. Etwas Feuerstein und kalter Rauch machen sich breit. Die Nuancen von kandiertem Ingwer werden nun immer st\u00e4rker. Artischocke, Fenchel sowie gelbe R\u00fcben breiten sich aus. er wirkt etherisch, vegetabil und doch erdig. Kardamom, Zimt und Nelke sorgen f\u00fcr reichlich W\u00fcrze. Gespannt blicke ich dem ersten Schluck entgegen. <\/p>\n

Gaumen<\/h5>\n

Dieser trockene Pinot Gris aus der Grand Cru-Lage Furstentum weist wahnsinnig viele Schichten an Aromen und Texturen auf. Er ist weder brav noch aufdringlich, sondern ruht einfach in sich. Er strahlt Weisheit und Lebenserfahrung aus. Er verliert nie seine Herkunft aus den Augen. Ein ehrlicher Schluck Wein voller Intensit\u00e4t. Er bringt die Aromatik der Nase sehr gut r\u00fcber. Aber dabei ist er in einen seidigen Cocon geh\u00fcllt. Nichts kann ausbrechen. Die Frucht, die W\u00fcrze, seine Ausfl\u00fcge in die Patisserie \u2013 alles bleibt in dieser eleganten Struktur und an Ort & Stelle. Bei sehr moderater S\u00e4ure gelingt es ihm dennoch eine L\u00e4nge und stille Gr\u00f6\u00dfe zu erzeugen. Mit jedem Schluck steigt mein Respekt vor dieser Leistung, ohne in Euphorie auszubrechen. Manchmal ben\u00f6tigt es dies aber auch gar nicht\u2026 <\/p>\n

Der im Februar 2021 abgef\u00fcllte, wei\u00dfgoldene Pinot Gris Grand Cru Furstentum 2019 bietet ein sehr klares, helles, frisches und feinaromatisches Bouquet von reifen Birnen, Kamille und zersto\u00dfenem Kalkstein. Vollmundig, intensiv und kraftvoll, aber auch frisch und salzig am Gaumen, ist dieser Pinot Gris dicht und kantig, leicht bitter und alkoholisch, ja sogar schwerf\u00e4llig. Er hat nicht die strukturelle oder salzige L\u00e4nge entwickelt, die sein Terroir verdient, sondern ist eher bitter. Normalerweise stammt er aus drei verschiedenen Parzellen, die gemeinsam gelesen und gepresst wurden. Der 2019er basiert auf einer gestaffelten Ernte der Parzellen, die entsprechend ihrer jeweiligen Reife geerntet wurden, um einen trockenen und bek\u00f6mmlichen Pinot Gris zu erhalten. Die fr\u00fcheren Jahrg\u00e4nge wurden halbtrocken bis lieblich abgef\u00fcllt. 14 % Alkoholgehalt. Naturkorken. Verkostung im Mai 2022 auf dem Weingut.
