Markus Lang came to winemaking like the virgin to the child. About 15 years ago, the aeronautical engineer, who at the time had very little to do with wine and nature, stood for the first time in a neglected, more than 100-year-old vineyard belonging to his great uncle who had just died. What followed was an intensive examination of the mountain, of himself, and of the way of making wine. The result is Demeter-certified, highly individual Rieslings and Grüner Veltliners that are completely different from anything else you can find in the Wachau or Kremstal.
