Beschreibung
Bodegas Felix Callejo is a family winery in Sotillo de la Ribera, founded in 1989 by the Callejo parents and now run by their children Beatriz, Noelia, José Félix, and Cristina Callejo. José Félix gained his experience at Pétrus in Bordeaux and at Torres in Chile, Noelia at Araujo in Napa Valley and at Cobos in Mendoza. In 2000, the family officially converted the winery to organic viticulture. A total of 27 plots on almost 55 hectares are planted with Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) as well as smaller amounts of Garnacha, Albillo Mayor, and Merlot. The vineyards are located at 830 to 930 metres on the northern edge of the Duero river basin and include gravel soils from old riverbeds, sandy soils, clay soils, and limestone soils. José Félix Collejo was named Winemaker of the Year 2021 by Master of Wine Tim Atkin in his report on Ribera del Duero.
