Wine Information

This wine comes from the 2.9-hectare Les Noyers vineyard. The vineyard is characterized by clay (30%), silt (39%), and sand (31%) on a bedrock of Asteria limestone. It lies at an altitude of 90 to 102 meters. 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot were used for this wine. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically, and agroforestry and permaculture are also integrated. After hand-harvesting, spontaneous fermentation took place, followed by aging in used oak barrels for 18 months. The wine was bottled without filtration or fining.

Nose

This Cabernet Franc-influenced wine offers a subtle aroma of ripe cassis, ripe dark cherries, and a hint of blueberry yogurt, mingled with notes of leaves, herbs, and a touch of peat. There are also some ripe green notes that hint at the Cabernet Franc.

Taste

On the palate, Les Noyers displays quite cool, juicy fruit. The wine has more tension and more tannin than the wines from the other two single-vineyard vineyards. This makes this Bordeaux seem comparatively firm compared to the other wines from the estate. It is also already very drinkable and shows its potential. The acidity is silky, the fruit juicy, and the wine lively, fresh, and transparent.
